Hi Folks — Let me state upfront that I agree with this, uh, guy: Teach your kids never to go off with stranger.
But is there anyone stranger than this blue-haired, baby-tawking clown who keeps showing up out of nowhere? The lesson he seems intent on teaching kids: Never go anywhere without a possibly imaginary, predator-obsessed prig in a blue wig.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyyssVgafUg&feature=player_embedded#!]

“Child Mistreatment, Child Abuse, What is it?
Humiliations, spankings and beatings, slaps in the face, betrayal, sexual exploitation, derision, neglect, etc. are all forms of mistreatment, because they injure the integrity and dignity of a child, even if their consequences are not visible right away. However, as adults, most abused children will suffer, and let others suffer, from these injuries. This dynamic of violence can deform some victims into hangmen who take revenge even on whole nations and become willing executors to dictators as unutterably appalling as Hitler and other cruel leaders. Beaten children very early on assimilate the violence they endured, which they may glorify and apply later as parents, in believing that they deserved the punishment and were beaten out of love. They don’t know that the only reason for the punishments they have ( or in retrospect, had) to endure is the fact that their parents themselves endured and learned violence without being able to question it. Later, the adults, once abused children, beat their own children and often feel grateful to their parents who mistreated them when they were small and defenseless.
This is why society’s ignorance remains so immovable and parents continue to produce severe pain and destructivity – in all “good will”, in every generation. Most people tolerate this blindly because the origins of human violence in childhood have been and are still being ignored worldwide. Almost all small children are smacked during the first three years of life when they begin to walk and to touch objects which may not be touched. This happens at exactly the time when the human brain builds up its structure and should thus learn kindness, truthfulness, and love but never, never cruelty and lies. Fortunately, there are many mistreated children who find “helping witnesses” and can feel loved by them.”
I’ve been afraid of clowns ever since the movie
“Poltergiest”. Now even more so…
I am not the kind to be afraid of clowns. I know many clowns that I am comfortable around. That guy was kind of creepy though.
EW!
Am I the only one who noticed that a video that’s supposed to teach kids about not going with strangers starts with a stranger in a clown suit saying “c’mon, follow me!”
This whole unfortunate thing could have been avoided if they had taken his advice in the first place… Don’t go with the strange clown, children. Never go with the strange clown.
@ghost…That’s the first thing I noticed as well.
I have seen many warnings to children how to be safe. They usually show that kids should run from adults that offers them candy or tries to coax them into their car.
I AGREE WITH THIS
However there are few (if any) movies that demonstrate a stranger that asks for directions or what time is it. Even if this is asked 10 feet away and the stranger doesn’t ask the children to come closer or give any reason to think there is anything sinister about it, children are trained to ALWAYS interpret this as an rape/abduction attempt. They are NEVER given an example of when it is ok to talk to strangers.
Children are trained to run away if a stranger says anything to them.
By default, all men should be feared.
These children grow up and have children of their own. They pass on this knowledge.
I’m not a fan of clowns in general but this one in particular is really creepy
Has anybody seen “IT.”
I’m not sure what the danger would be for those kid’s to walk down a path in the woods. Would a big bad wolf gett’em? But at least this video was an equal opportunity offender and the scary creepy child snatcher was actually a woman this time! But it didn’t exactly look realistic.
I’m not even going to watch it – clowns scare me too much (another haunted forever by viewing “Poltergeist” at too young an age…).
You can never be too safe. Remember, a stranger can rape your kids by just looking at them!
Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown , in “It”, was just ever so slightly creepier than Blueberry.
That clown was really creepy! Just to be nitpicky, too, I don’t like how he kept telling the kids that they “got themselves into” the various situations. Like it’s their fault that someone decided to bother them while they were walking down the street. I also didn’t see the harm in the path in the woods, though the creepy woman that emerged from it sort of made me laugh. In my head, I nicknamed that one “Childsnatcher Trail.”
Cloying yes, creepy no.
Wow… clowns don’t usually bother me. Now people who talk to 8 year olds like they are 2, is another matter. The idea of showing a series of situations and what to do is fine. But that look what you “got yourself into” business over and over again. I think that’s were my skin started crawling with the pedo sense (about the clown). He is practically saying, what ever happens to you is totally your own fault. That’s just a shade off from, if you don’t escape fast enough, don’t speak up because the shame is all yours. By the way I’m here to tell you what is good for you, because you are too stupid and should trust me no matter what. By the way, since you keep ‘getting yourself into these situations’ why don’t you come inside and play doctor with me. By the end I wanted to puke.
Very creepy. And I agree with the criticism on the “you got yourself into” angle. Very wrong message indeed!
I also laughed out loud at the bad acting and unlikely scenario of the woman emerging from the bushes. And at the irony of the clown telling the kids to go with him.
@Lin,
Why is it an unlikely scenario, for a woman to emerge from the bushes?
Women don’t assualt or abduct kids?
Thanks for another blackeye for the male population. You are inferring that kids should be taught to only fear males.
