“World’s Worst Mom” (you know who) debuts tonight at 9/8 Central Time, on the Discovery eriekiafay
Life channel. (Which, as I’m sure I’ll be saying for a while, “Is NOT ‘Lifetime!'”).
To find out what channel it’s on in your neck of the cable woods, here’s a handy-dandy station finder. The show is not online and episodes don’t repeat throughout the week. Alas! – L.

I don’t know near you, but in the DC area on Verizon there are two shows on tonight and they repeat at least 3-4 times in the next couple of days. I tried to record it so that it only picks up first run but my DVR is already telling me they are repeats.
I did watch the extended trailer. I think my ex needs to watch this, my 9 year old is not allowed to use a butter knife. If we go out to dinner she tells me to take it because she’s not allowed to use it.
I would have like to watch but sadly I don’t get that channel 🙁
Unfortunately, I only get TV from the internet, so I won’t be able to watch it either.
I was looking at my TWC app and I have an hour’s worth at 6:00PM and 9:00PM PST. They’re running them again Saturday at 4:00PM PST and Sunday at 7:00AM PST.
I think I have tonight’s set up in the DVR…
I went searching based on the link – which told me it was airing on a HD channel that was running something else. But I did find it on standard def on the other channel listed. It appears to be running several times.
It also has the original air date as 1/16/12 so they all come up as repeats – so beware when setting your DVR.
Lenore – congrats on turning your passion into a successful book, blog, “trend” and now TV series. I don’t come here often anymore because I get depressed reading all these stories, but I do feel your efforts have moved the needle. Keep it up.
It is my (perhaps incorrect) understanding that these episodes were produced a number of years ago and aired in Canada. Now that they are being broadcast in the US, it would be great if Lenore could get back in touch with the families to see if they truly embraced the change they seemed to reluctantly accept at the end of the episodes. Having the moms explain how their fears were overblown, that their children are happier not being treated as a baby and accepting age appropriate responsibilities, and that the moms themselves are happier and less stressed when the burden of controlling every movement and decision of their child life was relieved from them would be a powerful testament of how this obsessive style of child-rearing is detrimental to both the children and the parents.
Watched World’s Worst Mom last night and DVRed both episodes for my wife to watch.
I recognize the family from the first episode from the promo of Bubble Wrap Kids. So I assume that they are stating with the old season you filmed in Canada a few years ago?
Are you in contract to film new episodes? I hope so. I mean if Cake Douche and Attention Whore and Crazy Bitch + 8 can go for 8 seasons you deserve to be renewed.
My only slightly negative comment is, I wish Lenore did the narration. I would have liked to get to here are little more of her opinion and commentary/strategy. The narrator did too much of the hyped dramatization – and since I recognize voice her from Untold Stories of the ER, I can see why.
I wish the disclaimer at the beginning didn’t just caution on the risks but also benefits.
This is a slight rewrite:
“All children depicted in this program were at all times under the supervision of the production personnel. Should a viewer choose to leave a child unattended or unsupervised, all consequences and fun are the sole responsibility of the viewer.”
“I wish the disclaimer at the beginning didn’t just caution on the risks but also benefits.”
Right after the trigger warning?
This show is not available where I live, so I can still confidently say that there’s nothing good on television.
How exciting! Congrats, and I am sure I will be able to find this somehow. You can watch lots of stuff on Amazon, and I wouldn’t be surprised it this is among them.
I SO wanted to watch this last night but was disappointed when I discovered Charter cable doesn’t carry that channel.
My friend in New Hampshire who has Dish didn’t get it either. 🙁 🙁
Lenore: Congrats. The show’s debut didn’t show up on HD but the standard channel delivered. My (now 14-year-old) son was amused at my repeated visible outrage and unbelief of given situations while I was watching, while (sometimes) he was feeling smug about the child “victims” involved in the episodes.
“They’ve gotta speak UP,” he insisted, more than once, referring to the children involved, while watching. I reminded him that can be difficult when you’ve been conditioned to do anything but. He didn’t really accept that — and given our efforts to make him a free-range kid, maybe that’s not (just) a lack of empathy, but (also?) a good thing.
I DVR’d and just watched this morning. – I really enjoyed it!
Our cable provider dropped that station at the beginning of the year. 🙁 I was SO sad.
I just got cable on Wednesday and I recorded the show. I enjoyed it and look forward to more. When the boy got his sleepover, I cried. It looked like he was going to implode if Mama said no. I was really pissed that fine father was called a donor. What example does that set for the boys? Lenore, it was fun to see you in action. Keep those episodes coming.
We live in Southern California, and are in direct line of sight to Mt. Wilson, where most of the TV transmitters are. So we get our programming from the old-school TV antenna. We’re like the bunnies in a cartoon of long ago. They’re all snug in their bunny burrow, watching a TV show picked up by a “people ears” antenna. So we don’t have a cable carrier to complain to. Maybe someone will post a show on YouTube.
What disclaimer? ‘No hosts were harmed in the making of this episode’? 😛
@Roger, J: Yes, this is the same thing as Bubble Wrap Kids, so this “new” show was made ~3,5 years ago (and the first ep another year or so before that). Those original episodes were 41-44 minutes, and Lenore did comment on the situation and on what she was doing etc, so… do I understand correctly that the USA has had to wait three years to see this show and now they *still* only get 2/3 of it???
I thought you lost that title to the NJ suntan lady a couple years ago, Lenore.
