I am very strongly against the Hyperbole that the media thrives on. However, they only thrive on it because people crave it. 2017 entertainment is similar to that of 80 AD Roman Colosseum style of entertainment. The ‘Harm Joy’ of that era is similar to what we have today. The insatiable appetite to condemn is a big reason for the sex offense registry. This also feeds the ‘Us vs Them’ mentality. This feeds the, ‘All men near children are suspicious’ belief. This happens all year. Halloween is only an excuse to continue this.
Watch your thoughts. They become words. Watch your words. They become deeds. Watch your deeds. They become habits. Watch your habits. They become character. Watch your character. It becomes your destiny.
The above words are not just a clever saying that belongs on a Hallmark card. Ralph Waldo Emerson, Lao Tzu, Gautama Buddha, Winston Churchill, and Mahatma Gandhi have all made versions of that quote. When are people going to actually start paying attention to it? Perhaps they will later. The TV show, ‘Criminal Minds’ is just too entertaining and the clickbait on the intranet is ‘irresistible’. However, I don’t buy the excuse that many people fall on and that they claim to be helpless against this urge. People are only helpless if they keep telling themselves that they are.

I don’t watch the news, but do get entertained when I read stories like this:
Seriously, no one is giving out their stash of edibles. If they were, the adults would start trick-or- treating. I did get a kick out of the candy bar names!
Lollipopover I so agree. Have those cops seen what drugs can cost? No way someone gonna waste expensive drugs by just handing them over to trick or treaters!

You can recognize the homes giving out drugs by the dozen junkies hanging out on the stoop. I simply have the kids pass on that home and move on to the next

I think adults are having their Halloween fun, scaring themselves with stories about poison, razor blades, abduction, edibles, etc. The problem is that they’re taking Halloween away from the kids to do it.

So we ARE meant to comment over there? You’d miss your fishtank of goldfish/piranhas? Okay…
