This is why we don’t blame helicopter parents! The government itself is creating them, with pamphlets like this one, in Ireland, saying children under age 12 cannot figure out how far away a car is, or how fast it is going, so an adult should always cross with them. The state Idaho tried to pass a law to prevent childhood marriages. The law didn’t pass. It’s ironic how governments try to pass a law regarding kids to cross the street. An interesting thought: A 13 year old can get married with a parents permission, but an 11 year old cannot cross the street by themselves even with parental permission.
