Let’s remember we can all BE LIKE THIS LADY! And like the school kids, too. Let’s replace suspicion and fear with WARMTH! God knows this is a winter we really need it! – L.
When I showed this video to my husband, his first comment was “Now imagine the reaction if she was a 30 year old man waving to the kids on their way to school.” Sadly, it most likely would be quite different – no assembly, no valentines, just a visit from the local police.

Does she have a permit to do that? Has she undergone a background check?
I love happy stories like this one. Please keep them coming.

I wish our children’s world was filled with more Tinneys and less busybodies who see children walking as a dangerous activity.
She said “she just enjoys looking at them” because they were looking in at her, so she started waving and they waved back. This is how neighborhoods grow. How lovely.

Amazing story, gives us all hope.
I wonder if the school put her thru a background check before the assembly?

I have become cynical. I was floored, when I got halfway through the video and she had not yet been accused of being a pedophile. Seriously, before I even clicked the play button, my thought was “What did they arrest her for?”
This blog as made me a “worst first” thinker about the government. But I guess if there is any group that deserves no benefit of the doubt, it’s them.

And if that was an elderly man? They’d declare him a pervert and have him arrested. I’m sad that I feel this way, but as an elderly man I know the dangers. So much for “equality”.

That was really beautiful, thank you for sharing!!
Kudos, too, to the school administration for NOT having a knee-jerk, zero-intelligence, everything-not-required-is-forbidden reaction.

I know, I’ve had a gang of teens follow me home after parking near a school to get groceries at the neighbourhood store (which is next door to a school) and vandalise my house, shouting that I was “a pedo”.
Police shrugged it off as “just kids playing”. No action taken but I’m pretty sure I’m on some watchlist somewhere now.
